Carolyn Ann Oakley

Carolyn Ann Oakley, 72, of Burlington, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 28, 2025. She was born in Caswell County on December 27, 1952, to Eddie Lloyd and Catherine Thompson Lloyd. Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, her greatest joy was her family. She poured her heart into her home, and her grandchildren were the light of her life. She cherished every moment with them, celebrating their milestones, supporting their dreams, and showering them with unconditional love. Carolyn dedicated over 30 years to her work as a nurse after earning her associate degree in nursing. Her compassion and commitment touched countless lives, and she carried her caring nature far beyond her professional career. She was married for 42 years to her beloved husband, with whom she shared a deep and enduring bond. They treasured their time together, whether traveling, exploring new places, or simply enjoying each other’s company at home. Carolyn loved her favorite TV shows—The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Steve Harvey. She had a soft spot for animals, especially her cherished cat, who was always by her side. Throughout her life, she worked tirelessly for everything she had, embodying resilience, independence, and a quiet determination that inspired those around her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

She is preceded in death by her father, Eddie Lloyd and her siblings, Eddie, Lacy, Elsie, and Ernest.

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, Eduardo Najera; her sons, Billy, Eddie, and Marcos; her grandchildren, Gabby, Robbie, and Makayla; her great grandchildren, Sage, Isaiah, and Karisma; her mother, Catherine Thompson; and her siblings, Rosa, DeRoy, Patty, Sue, and Donald.

A service will be held to honor her life on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, beginning at 1:00pm at McClure Funeral Home in Graham. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 4:00pm-6:00pm at McClure Funeral Home in Graham.
