Carroll Stuart Martindale

BURLINGTON - Mr. Carroll Martindale, 86, passed away on February 12, 2015 at the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell. He was retired from AT&T. He enjoyed reading, traveling to the Outer Banks and listening to Big Band Music. He was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean Conflict.Carroll is survived by his wife Barbara "Jean" Blalock Martindale, sons; Jeffery Martindale (Candice) of Wendell, David Phillippie (Lisa) of Haw River, Donald Phillippie (Jeannie) of Mebane and Ronald Phillippie (Dee) of Burlington, daughter; Pamela Martindale of Florida, grandchildren; Bryan Phillippie (Christi), Brandon Phillippie (Courtney), Austin Phillippie and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evelon and Geneva Davis Martindale Shue, a son, Doug Martindale, and brothers, Norman and Elmer Martindale.Services will be held on Saturday February 14, 2015 at 12:30pm in the Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum officiated by Rev. Carolyn Burrus.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell 914 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215.
