Charles Augusta Huey, 78, of Mebane died September 22, 2017 at Durham Regional Hospital. Born February 21, 1939 in Alamance County, he was the son of John Franklin and Lottie Belle Rice Huey. Charles was a 1957 graduate of Aycock High School in Hillsborough. Charles enjoyed fishing, and was the retired owner/operator of Outer Banks Seafood Restaurant in Roxboro. He was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Linda Younger Huey; sons, Bryan Huey (Susan) of Mebane, Scott Isley (Patty) of Reidsville, Jody Isley (Kim) of Whitsett; brother, Dean Huey of Moncks Corner, SC; grandchildren, Jordan Newby, Faith Lowery, Judson Huey, Bryant Johnson, Beth Isley, Blake Isley and Marshall Isley; and two great-grandchildren, Thera and Parker; and constant thorn in his side, Carter. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Franky Huey; brother, Roy Huey; and nephew, Mike Huey. The memorial service for Charles Huey will be held at 7:00 pm Wednesday, September 27, in the chapel of McClure Funeral Home in Mebane with Pastor Sean Kavanagh presiding. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lebanon UMC Family Ministry Fund, 6101 Lebanon Church Rd, Mebane, NC 27302.
