Charles "Tommy" Thomas Lineberry

Mr. Charles "Tommy" Thomas Lineberry, 80, a cherished husband, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, at Compass Health Care. Born on August 25, 1944, in Alamance County, NC, Tommy was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew him. He shared 60 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Dell Parker Lineberry, and was a loving brother to Robert "Bobby" Lineberry. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, James "Jim" W. Lineberry Sr. and Katherine Cole Lineberry, and his brother, James "Billy" W. Lineberry Jr. Tommy was a proud graduate of Mebane High School, where he laid the foundation for a life characterized by hard work and dedication. He retired from Harris Teeter after many years of committed service, leaving behind a legacy of loyalty and camaraderie among his colleagues. His work ethic and friendly demeanor were appreciated by all who worked alongside him. A devout Christian, Tommy was a long-standing member of the Mebane Presbyterian Church. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him in his daily actions and providing comfort and strength throughout his journey. Tommy's passion for sports was undeniable. An avid Duke fan, he was a member of the Iron Dukes and relished in the excitement of watching football, baseball, and basketball games. His enthusiasm for his team was infectious, and he could often be found cheering them on, surrounded by friends and family who shared in his love for the game. As we bid farewell to Mr. Charles Thomas "Tommy" Lineberry, we hold onto the precious memories and the profound impact he made on our lives. His legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support will endure, reminding us of the remarkable man he was. Tommy's journey on earth has concluded, but his story will be told for generations to come, as an example of a life well-lived and a man deeply loved.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday August 19, 2025 at Oakwood Cemetery with the Pastor Tom Clymer officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mebane Presbyterian Church at 402 South Fifth St. Mebane, NC 272302.
