Charlie Anderson Wyatt, 90, of Burlington passed away on Tuesday, February 11,2025 at Cone Health Alamance Regional Hospital.
A lifelong resident of Alamance County, he was born June 16, 1934 to Walter Lemuel Wyatt and Myra Anderson Wyatt.
He is also survived by his loving wife and constant companion of 65 years, Donna Jeffreys Wyatt, his daughter Diane Wyatt Ellison (Page) of Raleigh, his son Gary Charles Wyatt (Deanna) of Mebane, and son David Lee Wyatt (Sharon) of Mebane. Charlie had eight grandchildren who he adored, Patrick, Anna, Sarah Grace Ellison, Anderson, Nolan, and Carlie Wyatt, and Brennan and Kensley Wyatt.
Charlie is also survived by his sister-in-law Rebecca Wyatt and numerous nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his two brothers, Walter Banks Wyatt and James Edward Wyatt.
Charlie served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He loved to share his memories of his time in the military with his family. He was a lifelong farmer and co-owner of Wyatt Brothers Construction, which received distinguished awards from the Alamance County Soil and Water Conservation District for Outstanding Accomplishments and Workmanship in the Installation of Conservation Practices. Many ponds and waterways in Alamance County were built by Wyatt Brothers Construction Company.
One of Charlie's proudest achievements was helping organize and form the Northeastern Alamance Volunteer Fire Department /Pleasant Grove Station 12. He was Chairman of the Board of Directors for 38 plus years until he retired. An additional fire substation was built on Highway 119, and it was dedicated to Charlie for his service rendered to the fire district.
Charlie enjoyed many years playing golf with his wife and friends. He liked watching Tarheel sporting events and playing card games. His favorite pastime was visiting with his children and grandchildren while getting caught up on their lives.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Long's Chapel Christian Church on Monday, February 17, 2025 at 2pm by Reverend David Wood and Reverend Scott Jeffreys(Charlie's nephew). Burial will follow at the church cemetery. All are invited to a reception with the family in the church fellowship hall immediately after.
