Christian Maurice Albertsen

Christian Maurice Albertsen, 76, of Graham passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 surrounded by friends and family.  Christian was born in Des Moines, Iowa to Clifford Melvin and Naomi Sample Albertsen, both deceased. At age 19, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and dutifully served his country for 20 years, retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant.  After his retirement from the Air Force, he worked for Tandy Corporation and the Burlington/Alamance County School system.  Christian also faithfully volunteered for over 10 years at WBYJ Burlington Christian Radio as CEO, CFO and engineer.

Christian spent a lifetime of service to God and his church family and was an active member of Haw River Seventh Day Adventist Church for over 30 years.

Christian is survived by his children; Leah Marie Albertsen-Barber (Christopher) of Nashville, TN; Christian M. Albertsen, III (Shannon Palmer) of Durham; grandson Christian Denko Albertsen; three brothers and three sisters. In addition, he was preceded in death by his wife; Janet McCormack Albertsen and one sister.   Christian loved his family and often complimented their great accomplishments.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 5:00 PM in the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham, officiated by Dexter Richardson.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 to 5:00 PM prior to the service.

Per his wishes,  there will be an interment at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.
