Clifford "Cliff" William Scarborough

BURLINGTON - My loving husband, Clifford William Scarborough, went to be with his Lord and Savior January 18th, 2017. He was 54.He was born in Galax Virginia on March 5th, 1962 to Robert and Gayle Scarborough.At age 17, he joined the Navy and served on the USS Arkansas CGN-41 for 4 years.Then he went to the Navy schools and earned bachelor degree in Electricity and Electronics in Vallejo California. He then served as an instructor in the Navy schools for 2 years. After leaving the Navy, he came back to North Carolina where he married and lived a simple life with his wife. He was a good husband for 21 years to Angela Scarborough.Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Angela Sheppard Scarborough; father, Robert Gibbes Scarborough; two brothers, Robbie Scarborough of Little River, SC, Ross Scarborough (Tahee) of South Korea; two sisters, Susan Scarborough Fox of Burlington, NC, and Anna Scarborough (Jeffrey) of Mebane, NC; two stepsons, Jason Vincent of Burlington, NC, Stephen James Vincent (Cathy) and grandson, Matthew Vincent of Burlington, NC, nieces Elizabeth Fox and Sarah Fox of Wilmington, NC, Aubrey Wright of Mebane, NC and Leia Scarborough of South Korea.He was preceded in death by his mother, Gayle Mahaffey Moore.A graveside service will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery in Burlington on Wednesday, January 25th, 2017 at 2 p.m. Family will receive visitors at the gravesite after the service.Online condolences may be sent at www.mcclurefuneralservice.net.
