Clyde "Cotton" Calvin Childress Sr.

BURLINGTON - Mr. Clyde "Cotton" Calvin Childress Sr., 69, passed away at his residence on Monday September 14, 2015. Clyde was a sports fanatic. More than anything he was avid Nascar and Carolina Tarheels fan. He loved to fish and be in the outdoors. He is survived by his wife: Lucy Childress of the home; son: Clyde Childress Jr. and wife Andrea; daughters: Theresa Childress and husband Rodney Jones, Debra Childress, Cynthia Campos and husband Jose, Tonya Hensley; stepdaughters: Tonya Harrelson, Natosha Tatum Donham; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Jackie Childress.He was preceded in death by his parents: Frank Childress Sr. and Willie Florence Childress.A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, September 18 at 6 p.m. at the McClure Funeral Chapel in Graham by the Rev.
