Welcome to the celebration of life for Reverend Clyde Huster Whitmore Jr. of 3835 Mt. Willen Road in Haw River, North Carolina. On Feb 7th, following a two-year battle with Leukemia, Clyde passed away at home surrounded by his loving family. Clyde grew up in Norwalk, CT. He was the son of Clyde Huster Whitmore Sr and Nancy Jean Jeffries Whitmore. Clyde got his high school diploma in 1974 from Norwalk High School. Following his graduation, he went on to attend welding school. Subsequently, he worked as a sales associate at sears and roebuck for seven years. Clyde loved working with his hands, so he went on to learn the cabinet-making trade and started his own business entitled custom cabinets by Clyde. He was very proud of his forty + year cabinetry business. In 1982, he met Cynthia Carter, the love of his life. Clyde and Cynthia were married in July 1984 and spent 41 wonderful years together. Clyde fathered seven amazing children and was excited about the upcoming birth of his first grandchild. Clyde was a caring son, a devoted husband, and a loving brother and uncle. Clyde was an avid classic car enthusiast with many of his own vintage cars. He had many friends in the classic car community and loved going to car shows. Clyde moved his family to North Carolina in 2006 and was blessed to be around extended family. Clyde was licensed as a minister in Norwalk, Connecticut. Upon moving to North Carolina in 2006, he was licensed under the Baptist Church and then became ordained as a Baptist minister. He served as an Associate Minister at Bethsaida Baptist Church in Mebane, North Carolina, for many years and an associate minister at True Worship Church in Burlington, North Carolina. Before ordination, he was a chaplain for Gideon's international ministry. He loved the Lord with his whole being. He was endearingly known as the "Jumping preacher" because he would get so filled with joy while he was praising God. Clyde never met a stranger; he loved everyone and had a heart of gold. He will be missed by many. Clyde was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Huster Whitmore Sr, and his brother Bennie Whitmore. Clyde is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cynthia Whitmore, and brother-in-law David Carter. Children Arnetha Whitmore (husband Michael Pickup), Erica Peel (husband Kendal), Isaac Whitmore, Obadiah Whitmore, Samuel Whitmore (wife Caitlyn), Esther Whitmore, Jacob Whitmore, mother Nancy Jefferies Whitmore, his sister Denise Jenkins (brother-in-law Raymond), his brother Harold Whitmore( sister in law Darleen),  along with a host of Aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and close family members.
