Mar 26, 1956 — Jun 30, 2026

Graham

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Crystal Chatman Berry, who peacefully passed away on June 30, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

Born on March 26, 1956, in Alamance County, Crystal was a knitter by trade and took great pride in her work and the ability to provide for her family. She had a fun loving spirit and was known for her sense of humor and quick wit. She loved sending Snapchats to family and friends, spending time with her four legged companion, Athena, relaxing at the beach, and spending hours talking to those she loved. Above all, her greatest joy in life was her family, she treasured every moment spent making memories with them.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna Apple (Jeff), Stephanie O’Donnell (Jason), Tina Blackwell (Kevin); stepdaughters, Jenifer Wallace & Sandy Perales; her cherished grandchildren, Anna Paschal (Tyler), Brooke Layton (Robert), Hunter O’Donnell (Emily), Kayleigh Blackwell (Kenan), Layna Wade, and Cristie Stone (Chris); her precious great grandchildren, Oaklynn, Waylon, Ellie, Asher, Wade, and Thomas; brother, Timmy Chatman (Cindy).

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Ray Berry; her parents, Charles Richard Chatman and Hilda Gray Lineberry; her siblings, Mike Chatman, Mattie Lou Bundren, and Linda Putnam; and her precious great granddaughters, Kourtnay Gwynn Watkins and Adaline Berkley Blackwell.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that her love and sassiness will remain with us forever. She taught us how to love deeply, laugh often, and face life’s challenges with grace. Her strength, wit, and unconditional love have left an everlasting mark on all who knew her. While we grieve her absence, we rejoice in the promise that she is healed at peace in the presence of her Savior. Her legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering strength will continue to inspire us, and we look forward to the glorious day when we are reunited with her in Heaven. Until then, she will remain forever in our hearts and in the lives of all who were blessed to know and love her.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 11am at Mcclure Funeral Home in Graham. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10am-11am prior to the service. Interment will follow in Graham Memorial Park.
