Cynthia Vines Bright, affectionately known as Mama Cindy, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, in Alamance Co., NC, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 7, 1956, in Watauga Co., NC, she was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her. Her unwavering faith and boundless compassion touched countless lives throughout her 69 years. 

Mama Cindy is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, Michael "Mike" Freeman Bright, with whom she shared a beautiful and enduring love. Her legacy continues through her son, Jacob Bright, and his wife, Ashley, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Braeden, Vance, Evelynn, and Gates, who brought immense joy to her life. She cherished her daughter-in-law Ashley’s friendship and compassion. She was eternally grateful for her loving husband Mike, her son Jacob and Ashley for always looking after her until the end of her life.

She was a beloved daughter to her mother, Betty Winebarger Vines, and a dear sister to Denise Sharpe and her husband, Calvin. Her warmth and guidance will be deeply missed by her niece, Susan Hutchins, and her husband, Donald, along with her great-nieces, Abigale and Amelia, a cousin, Jean Vines. and other loving family members in Boone, NC and surrounding. areas Cynthia was preceded in death by her father, Vance Charles Vines. 

Cynthia's professional life was marked by over 40 years of dedicated service at Carolina Biological, from which she retired in 2020. Her commitment to her work was exceeded by her devotion to her faith community at the Lamb's Chapel. There, she was a proud member, actively engaging with the youth program and providing care and love in the nursery. Her Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her in all her endeavors. 

Her passion for mission work was evident in her numerous trips with Christian Adventures to War, West Virginia, where she selflessly served those in need. Cynthia's heart for service was vast, and she found great fulfillment in helping others, whether through her church or on her mission trips. 

Cynthia's love for life extended to her cherished beach trips with her "Girlfrins," a tradition that spanned many years and created a tapestry of memories. Her family was the center of her world, and she often expressed her gratitude for her son and daughter-in-law, who lovingly cared for her and kept her spirits high. 

Mama Cindy's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and service. Her radiant smile, kind heart, and unwavering spirit will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to cross her path. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, we take solace in the knowledge that her legacy will live on through the lives she touched and the love she shared. Cynthia Vines Bright's memory will be cherished and honored by all who knew her, and she will be profoundly missed.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday February 17, 2026, at the Lamb’s Chapel (Airport Campus) with Pastor Scott Grimm officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 4:00 prior to the service at the church. The family ask that you please wear bright colors to the service as that would make Cindy happy.
