Daniel Francis “Dan" Clark, 82, of Graham, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on June 10, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on June 25, 1942, in Haw River, North Carolina, Dan lived a life rooted in faith and family. He was the son of the late Murphy Haskins Clark and Lillian Thelma Foster Clark.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 58 years, Charlotte Jones Clark, and their three children: Karen Clark Sowers (Tracy), Melissa Clark Hobgood (Chuck), and Daniel Francis Clark II (Jill). Dan was a proud grandfather to Clymouth Ethan Lloyd (Brittany), Corri Lloyd Curtis (Justin), Haileigh Sowers Jones (Colby), Haley Amber Clark, Taylor Breann Hobgood (Zachary), and Alexis Brooke Hobgood. He was blessed with six great-grandchildren: Nash Clymouth Lloyd, Bria Dare Lloyd, Larkin Knox Curtis, Dutton Ridge Curtis, Cooper Reid Jones, and Jovi Wren Jones. He is also survived by his sister, Annette Clark Bridges (Robert); brother, Darryl Holmes Clark (Annette); sister-in-law, Leslie Trinite Clark, and several extended family members and friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his siblings: Larry Haskins Clark (Shirley), Barbara Clark Boggs (Richard), Jean Clark Durham (Johnny), Charles Benjamin Clark, Randell Ray Clark (Gloria), and nephew Richard Alvin Boggs Jr., who now welcome him into eternal rest.
Dan valued hard work and was not one to sit around idly. He spent most of his career working at Burlington Industries, but his most treasured roles were “Daddy” and “Pawpaw.” Dan was never happier than in the presence of his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family. Whether picking up grandchildren from school, watching a good Western, solving a crossword puzzle, playing Rook with friends, or cheering on Kyle Busch, Dan found joy in the simple pleasures of life.
A man of deep faith, he loved reading the Bible and lived by its teachings. His wisdom, generous heart, and infectious laughter will be his legacy. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McClure Funeral Service in Graham, NC (1030 S. Main St, Graham, NC 27253). A funeral service celebrating his life will take place on Friday, June 13, at 1:00 PM at RockHill Church (formerly First Baptist Church of Alamance, 4363 NC-62, Burlington, NC 27215). The graveside service will follow immediately at Alamance Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Dan’s honor to RockHill Church, the church in which he married Charlotte, and that meant so much to him.
Dan will be deeply missed and remembered by all the many lives he touched.
