Mr. Danny Wayne Edwards, 68, of Graham, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 18, 2025. He was the son of Jeanette Lashley Edwards and the late Ernest Eugene Edwards. Danny graduated from Orange High School and worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for 33 years. Danny was a man of many passions. He was an avid supporter of the North Carolina Tar Heels, the Washington Redskins, and the New York Yankees. He loved NASCAR and spending his free time on the golf course. Danny loved to travel, always bringing his camera along to capture the beauty of the world around him. He had a unique gift for humor; his quick wit, sarcasm, and effortless ability to make people laugh made him someone you just wanted to be around. He could light up a room without even trying, and his humor became a source of joy for so many. Danny proudly dressed as Santa Claus each year to bring joy to children during the holidays, a role he cherished. He was an active member of the Burlington Shag Club, where he shared his love for music and dancing. A dedicated member of Orange Chapel Church, Danny served faithfully in the Men's Club, giving back to the church family he loved. He lived life with heart and soul, and he leaves behind a legacy of laughter, service, and love.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jane Roberts Edwards and his grandparents.
He is survived by his daughter, Laura Howe (Chris); his granddaughter, Harper “Sweet Pea” Howe; his son, Jonathan Edwards (Emily); his mother, Jeanette Lashley Edwards; his sister, Janet Edwards Gautier; his brother, Michael Edwards (Terri); his nephew, Michael “Otis” Edwards Jr. (Jamie); his niece, Nicole Edwards (Zach); his great-nephew, Dexter Edwards; and many aunts, uncles, and friends.
A service will be held to honor his life on Thursday, June 12, 2025, beginning at 2:00pm at Orange Chapel Church. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship following the burial.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Orange Chapel Church Building Fund.
