Dare Bowman Whitfield

Mrs. Dare Bowman Whitfield, 72, of Mebane, NC, passed away on Wednesday February 13, 2019 at UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill.   She was the the daughter of the late Jessie "JD" and Mary Bowman.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, Dwight Whitfield, sons; Danny Fitts & Carrie Rigan, David Whitfield & Jennifer, a daughter, Susan Fitts & Brian Hatch, brothers; Daniel "Pat" Bowman & Rena, Gene Bowman, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a special friend Jenny Hickman.

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her 1st husband Elam "Mousey" Fitts, son, Daniel Lee Fitts, sisters; Dale Sorrell, Ann Todd, brothers; Emmitt Bowman, Laurie Ray Bowman, and Jay Bowman.

A funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday February 16, 2019 in the McClure Funeral Chapel in Mebane.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday from 10-11 at the funeral home.
