David "Dave" Allen Stanton

Mr. David “Dave” Allen Stanton, 86, of Elon, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024. He was the son of the late Charles and Lucille Stanton. Dave was an avid golfer, fisherman, and Tar Heel fan.  During his younger years, he was an accomplished golfer having won seven club championships, shooting two rounds of 63.  Dave graduated from High Point College and worked in the hosiery business for over 30 years.  He retired as a plant manager, which is what he did the last fifteen years for three different companies.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Joyce Stanton; his sister, Suzanne Stanton; sister and brother in law, Mary and Morrison Devine.

Mr. Stanton is survived by his wife, Donna Stanton; his sons, Chuck Stanton and Bobby Stanton (Kristi) both of Burlington; his daughter, Dawn Jackson (Jody) of Hudson; five grandchildren; his brother in law, John Stanton; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 3:00pm at Kerr’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
