David Franklin Brown

November 16, 1953 — November 15, 2016

Mr. David Franklin Brown, 62, of Woodhaven Drive, Burlington, NC, also known as “Ten-Speed”, “Da-Veed”, and or “Brownie” passed away on Tuesday November 15, 2016 at his residence. A native of Alamance County, NC, he was the son of the late Grady and Beatrice Dabbs Brown. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, neighbor, and friend to many. David worked with Glen Raven Mills for over 20 years and had recently been working with the Village of Brookwood making sure that everyone got their meals on time and were happy. He was known for being a caring and gentile soul, always putting others above himself no matter what the need may be. Sunday dinners were especially important to him as all family members must be present in order to eat. He was an avid Duke and Cowboys fan. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Deborah Worley Brown, of the Home; daughter, Lu Ann Brown, of Gibsonville; son, Michael Brown, of Burlington; grandchildren, Jayden Spaulding, Nash Brown and Declan Brown; brother, Cecil “Rookie” Brown and wife Linda, of Burlington and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 Saturday November 19, 2016 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with the Pastor Larry Redding Officiating. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM on Friday November 18, 2016 at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham, and other times at the residence of the family.
