David Arthur Ellis

Mr. David Arthur Ellis 73, of Snow Camp, NC, passed away on July 19, 2023, at his residence. A native of Montgomery Co. MD, he was the son of the late Kenneth Leo Ellis and Margaret King Ellis, and he was the husband to the love of his life, the late Sue Ann McClannan Ellis. David was an avid fisherman and had a strong love for his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. David retired as a General Pipe Foreman in the Norfolk, VA Shipyard where he worked on Nuclear Submarines and Battleships. Following his time in Norfolk, he worked with Danville Corrections as a guard. He loved nothing more than his trips to the lake or the beach with his loving wife and family. Survivors include his children, Chris Ellis and wife, Helen, Ronnie Rotenberry and wife Tonya, Robert Ellis and wife Bekah, and Jolene Crowfoot; his grandchildren, Tiffany Ngo and husband Vinh and their children, Racer, Lorli, and Major, Summer Carter and husband Jake, and their children, Everleigh and Reid, Dallas Ellis, Tia Hinshaw and husband Bret and their child, Oliver, Jadzia Hamilton and husband Rother and their child, Adaline, Ronnie Rotenberry and wife Abigal, Siouxxanne Haskell and husband Noah, Mia Beasley, David Roberts, and Ophelia Crowfoot. A graveside served will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday July 29, 2023, at the Union Grove UMC Cemetery in Hillsborough, NC with the Pastor Scott London officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice in memory of David. McClure Funeral Service in Graham is assisting the family.
