David Allen Frazier 84, passed away on May 21, 2023. Mr. Frazier was a native of Burke Co. NC. Mr. Frazier was born in Valdese, NC to the late Thomas Cone and Ruth Hodge Frazier. He was a US Army Veteran and was in Law Enforcement for 17 ½ with the Valdese Police Department and then retiring from the Alamance Co. Sheriff’s Department. David just loved being at home and do yard work and go to the mountains as he loved the mountains so much. David loved his church and had a special love for Jesus. He loved Christmas and Fall. David was a member of New Bridge Church and was a proud charter member. David was declining in health for 2 months. He is survived by his wife, Sherry O. Frazier, of the home and they were married for 8 years and 3 months in Burlington, NC; his daughter, Kathy Bates, of Leland, NC; his son, Rick Thompson, of Covington, GA; stepsons, Samuel and Jerry, of Haw River and Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Natalie Thomas, of Palm Coast, FL, Christy (Daniel) Evans, of Palm Coast, FL, Carly (Steve) Ervin, of Madison, GA, Stephanie Shirley, of Leland, NC, and Brian (Lydia) Shively, of Hampstead, NC; his 14 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; sister, Margo (Steve), of Silva, NC and a brother, Douglas (Anita) Frazier, of Burlington, NC; his many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Frazier was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Frazier and his 3 sisters Rhea F. Pons, Ann F. Zimmerman, Barbara F. Prospect and a brother, Donald T. Frazier. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday May 26, 2023, at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane with the Pastor Scott London officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until service time on Friday at the funeral home, and other times at the residence of the family. The family of Mr. Frazier would like to extend a special thank you to the Burlington Fire Department Station #5 and to the Alamance County EMS for their continued love and support for David through his failing health.
