David John Izzo

David John Izzo passed away on July 5, 2024 in Chapel Hill, NC. Born in Corona, Queens on March 26, 1950, David became a teacher, professor, mentor, and writer. He published many books, poems, essays, and plays. He was educated at CUNY York, CUNY Queens, and Temple University where he earned his PhD. Aside from his writing, his love in life was his wife Carol and the many cats they adopted. He will be remembered by his in-laws, Lucille, David, and Bill, and his nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to a local animal shelter. McClure Funeral Service in Mebane is assisting the family.
