David Leon Jones

David Jones, 79, of Mebane passed away on March 2, 2024.  David loved boating and running excavation equipment.  David was a faithful and active member of Eastside Baptist Church.  He was well known for loving people and his Savior.  He retired from Burlington Industries after 37 years.  He graduated from Hillsborough High School.  David is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Dell-Jones; sons, Russell Jones (Amanda) of Gaffney, SC., Jonathan Dell, of Spokane, Wa., Mark Holland (Sherri) of Va.; brother, Richard Jones (Thelma); sister, Margaret Lassiter; grandchildren, Zoey Jones, David Jones, Tyler Holland and Karrie Minnex.  He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Willie Mae Jones and his brothers, Wayne Jones and Billy Dunnagan.  A time of fellowship will be held from 11am-12pm on Saturday March 9, 2024 at Eastside Baptist Church in Mebane.  The funeral service will follow at 12pm.  McClure Funeral Service in Mebane is honored to assist the Jones family.  Memorials may be made to Eastside Baptist Church General Fund.
