David Michael Woolever, 55, went to be with the Lord suddenly and unexpectedly on July 1, 2026, at his home in Aurora, Colorado.
David was born on May 28, 1971, in Frederick, Maryland. He was raised in Ravenswood, West Virginia, where he attended local schools and graduated from Ravenswood High School in 1989.
David proudly served in the United States Air Force for 10 years. During his military career, he was stationed at Los Angeles Air Force Base in California and Incirlik Air Base in Turkey. He also served as an instructor at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama, where he taught at the Officers Candidate School.
Following his military service, David earned degrees from Shepherd College, East Carolina University, and Liberty University. He was employed as an adjunct professor at Colorado Technical College and later served as a history professor at Johnson & Wales University before its closure. He also worked as a real estate agent with You 1st Realty in Denver.
David loved the mountains and was happiest surrounded by their beauty. He enjoyed skiing in Colorado, but he never lost his love for his home state of West Virginia and its rolling hills and mountains. He treasured the time he spent outdoors and especially enjoyed sharing life with his two miniature dachshunds, Nestor and Parker, whom he loved dearly.
David is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Mary Woolever; his sister, Kathy Nash (Scott); his niece, Kathryn Nash; his nephews, Jack and Luke Nash; his uncle, Jeffrey Woolever (Mary Kay); his aunt, Paula Woolever; and his cousins, Brian Woolever, Curt Woolever, Molly Woolever, Terri Roush (Ted), and Connie Stickdorn.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marvin and Beulah Woolever and George and Adelia Wiseman; his uncles, Keith Woolever and Roger Wiseman (Mary); and his cousins, William Reed Wiseman and Chad Woolever.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to your favorite animal shelter or to Tunnel to Towers.
