Debra Gay Oakley-Hunter

Debra G. Oakley-Hunter, 62, of Mebane, NC, passed away on Monday October 30, 2017 at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill. A native of Durham County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Clyde “Pete” and Alice Glosson Oakley. She was a loving and devoted wife, sister and friend to many. She enjoyed shopping, going to the movies and going out to eat with her family and friends. She loved to visit with folks and she always loved her trips to Myrtle Beach. Survivors include her husband of 20 years, William Tyson “Billy” Hunter Jr., of the home; brother, Alvin Oakley and wife Terrye, of Durham; nephews, Hunter and Brok Oakley; nieces, Kristy Hardy and Sherrie Frazier; great nieces and nephews, Amber Hardy, Hannah Frazier and Elijah Frazier; mother in law, Elsie Hunter, of Mebane; sister in law, Cheryl Frazier and husband Eddie, of Mebane, and many loving Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. A gathering of friends and family will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday November 4, 2017 at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Mebane. McClure Funeral Service in Mebane is assisting the family.
