Delorese Dennis Wilkinson

Mrs. Delorese Dennis Wilkinson, 85, of Mebane, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday July 30, 2014 at Burlington Manor. She was the daughter of the late Carroll Eugene and Alpha Stewart Dennis. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was a lifelong member of The First Baptist Church of Mebane where she loved her church and church family. She was an avid volunteer and active in her community, whether giving friends rides to church, church activities, or different boards she served on, she always put others first. Survivors include her daughters, Jan W. Petty and husband Pastor Jim, of Montana, Bonnie W. Manning and husband Mark, of Mebane, Terri W. Maddox and husband Tim, of Burlington, and Patti W. Gibson, of Mebane; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; brother in law, Ted Wilkinson and wife Rose, of Mebane, and sister in law, Eunice Miller, of Ohio. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Romell Thompson Wilkinson, granddaughter, Heather K. Manning, and son in law, Otis Gibson Jr. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday August 2, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Mebane with the Pastor Jim Petty and the Dr. Terry Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until service time on Saturday at First Baptist Church in Mebane, and other times at the residence of the daughter, Bonnie at 109 White Dr. Mebane, NC 27302. McClure Funeral Home in Mebane is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Mebane at 301 South Third St. Mebane, NC or to the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance/Caswell at 918 Chapel Hill Rd.
