Rev. Denzil Emory Brown

October 2, 1929 — April 5, 2016

Rev. Denzil Emery Brown (Denny) died peacefully in Snow Camp, NC on April 5, 2016 at his home. He leaves behind his loving wife Betty J. Brown, five daughters Debbie J. Matheson (Douglas) Denise D. Marriner, Darla S. Schneider, Crystal G. Fuller (Rev. Robert Fuller), B. Davina Killingsworth and one son Delmar D. Brown. He has 15 grandchildren plus a number of great grandchildren. Denzil is survived by his brother, Delmar E. Brown of Newark, OH and sister, Louise Sons of Zanesville, OH. Denzil was born on Oct. 2, 1929. He retired from IBM in 1992 after 25 years and was the pastor of the Pentecostal Lighthouse Church for 35 years. It was never a secret how much our daddy loved our mom. He loved his wife and family very much and was so proud of them in public. He loved the Lord with his whole heart. Although he had a full time career with IBM in telecommunications, he was also a full time pastor and never took a salary working for the Lord. He physically built the church building with his own hands and never complained of being tired. He loved the word of God and practiced what he preached. He enjoyed sharing the word with others. Daddy was so talented in that he could play a harmonica and a guitar at the same time. No one was a stranger to our daddy. He would always nod his head and say "How do you do". His daughters were so dependent on him as he was able to fix anything. He taught his son all his trades in building, fixing and repairing anything. He always had a song to whistle when he worked. A funeral service is scheduled for Rev. Denzil Brown at 2:00 PM on Saturday April 9th at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel on 1030 S. Main Street in Graham, NC. Rev. Robert Fuller and Rev. Richard Young will be officiating the ceremony. There will also be a grave side service at the cemetery behind the United Methodist Church on Bethel S. Fork Road, Snow Camp. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 6 until 8 Friday evening. Other times they will be at the residence. Condolences can be sent to family of Rev. Denzil Brown at 6233 Bethel S. Fork Rd., Snow Camp, NC 27349. The family would like to thank everyone for remembering our dad.
