Mrs. Dillard Petty Smith

GRAHAM - Mrs. Dillard Petty Smith, 97, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, at Peak Resources of Graham. She was born in Alamance County. She was retired from Virginia Mills with 30 years of service and was of the Christian faith. Dillard was a loving mother and grandmother to her daughter, Vickie Mitchell, of the home; and grandson, Aaron Yarboro of the home; foster daughter, Billie McFayden of Graham; two foster granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Woodrow Smith; parents, Ollie "Bud" Petty and Hattie Johnson Petty; granddaughter, Kristina Yarboro; five sisters and one brother. A funeral service will be held Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at 2 p.m. in the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham. Officiating will be the Rev. Kenny Godair. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service. The family would like to thank all the caregivers at Peak Resources of Graham for their compassion and care. They also thank her niece and best friend, Willene Haithcock, for all she has done for Dillard over the years.
