Dilsey Martin Jones

Mrs. Dilsey Martin Jones, 87, of 2915 Corbett Rd. Mebane, NC passed away on Saturday December 12, 2015 at her residence. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Collie Exodus and Myrtle Mandy Nash Martin. She was a member of Martins Chapel Baptist Church where she was involved in the Missionary Circle and her spiritual uplifting from her church family has been more than appreciated. Prior to her being a member at Martins Chapel, she attended Jeffries Cross Baptist Church which has always continued to show their love and support for Mrs. Jones. She was a member of the Alamance County Home Extension Club where she was an avid quilter to help others. She was a proud member of the Occaneechi Tribe. She was an avid seamstress, making drapes and upholstery for many years and she made drapes for yachts and other different projects for family and friends. She attended McCray School House in Pleasant Grove for which she was proud. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Pleasant Grove Motorcycle Club for their continued love and support for Mrs. Jones. Surviving are her daughters, Linda Perkins and husband Roosevelt, of Mebane, Phyllis Jones, of Mebane, and Daisy Millicent Jones and Don, of Mebane; son, Jesse Willard Jones Jr., of WI; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; sister in law, Evelyn Martin, of Fayetteville and brother in law, Isaac Jones, of IL. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Willard Jones Sr.; sisters, Verna Morrow, Alma DeGennis, Flossie Martin and Laddie Whitmore; brothers, Kissel and Cuther Martin. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday December 16, 2015 at the Martins Chapel Baptist Church with the Pastor Robert Jerrell and Pastor Ronald Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Martins Chapel on Wednesday, and other times at the residence of the family.
