Don Everett Moose

Don Everett Moose, 76, of Graham passed away on May 10, 2023 at Duke University Medical Center. He was a native of Hickory, NC, retired from the City of Graham and a US Navy veteran. He attended University of Georgia as a Forestry major and continued his education in automotives at Alamance Community College after serving honorably on a naval ship during the Vietnam War. He is the son of the late John Franklin & Annie Stout Moose and husband of the late Deborah Dalton Moose. He was also preceded in death by siblings, Juanita Moose Craig, John Moose, Jr., and JoAnn Moose Witherspoon. Don loved talking with coworkers, neighbors and family. He enjoyed mechanical fixes, restoring classic cars and spending time doing small things for others. Don was an Eagle Scout and served as a scout troop leader for many years. He enjoyed his fellowship at Phillips Chapel United Methodist Church and held deep affection for humans and animals.  He believed deeply in serving and giving of his time and energy to family, friends and neighbors.

He is survived by his sister, Ruby Johannesen of Greensboro, NC; daughter, Jessica Moose Tucker and husband David Tucker, Jr. of Wake Forest; son, Joel Terrell of Raleigh; stepdaughter, Misty Hagood and husband Bryan of Waynesville; grandchildren, Blake Terrell and Jack Hagood. He has many surviving nieces and nephews, cousins and inlaws stretching from the Charlotte area to Snow Camp, NC.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, May 18, 2023 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham conducted by Pastor Darrell Moser. The family will be able to receive friends from 4-6pm following the service at the Graham Regional Park Shelter,  1575 N. Jim Minor Rd. Haw River, NC 27258.
