Donald Monroe Davis

Donald Davis, 88, passed away on January 4, 2017. He was the son of the late Raymond and Mandy Lankford Davis. In his earlier career, Donald was part owner/operator of R.F. Davis & Son Logging. After his dad retired, Donald became owner/operator of Davis’s Exxon in Eli Whitney for the next 42 years. Survivors include his daughters; Cynthia Ann Shropshire (James) and Teresa Dalton (Bobby), son; Curtis Fletcher Davis (Deborah), siblings; Charlotte Farrow (Ron), Geraldine Garrett and Margaret Jones (Willis), eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Barrett Davis, a son; Ronald Lynn Davis, brother; B.F. Shropshire, sister; Barbara Sternberg and a grandson Tony Shropshire. The family will receive friends on Friday January 6, 2017 from 11:00-12:30 at Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church. The funeral will follow in the church at 1:00. Burial will take place in Moore’s Chapel Cemetery.
