Donna Lynn (Jones) Mayo

Mrs. Donna Lynn Jones Mayo 68, of Greensboro, NC, passed away on December 4, 2023, at the Hospice Home in Burlington. A native of Alamance Co. NC, she was the daughter of Frank James Jones, who survives and the late Betty Frances Adams Jones. Donna loved to cook for her friends and family. She loved to sing especially when it came to The Carpenters Christmas music, and she always enjoyed getting her Manicures and pedicures. Donna loved her family, and she absolutely adored her grandson Jaxon, her special dog Harley and her grand-dog, Presley. She was so happy that she was able to attend her daughter’s wedding through her illness but with her strong will and love she was there for every moment. She enjoyed going to the Cutting Board with her family and would make a straight line for the salad bar to get her potato salad. Donna always put others needs above her own, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all, to know her was to love her. In addition to her father, survivors include her loving husband of 48 years, Ronald Allen Mayo; her children, Lela Rhodes and husband Garrett, and Chris Mayo and wife Kate; her loving grandson, Jaxon Richards; her brothers, Barry Jones and wife Michal, and Rusty Jones and wife Karla, and many loving nieces, nephews, and other loving family members. In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her grandparents, Buster Adams Sr. and Lela Adams; her aunts, Doris Tucker, and Judy Murray; uncles, Pete Adams, Thomas “Punch” Adams, Lawrence “Rinky” Adams, Bill Adams, Buster Adams Jr., Connie Mack Adams, and Kenneth “Poochie” Adams, and many other loving family members. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday December 8, 2023, at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Darrell Massey officiating. The family will hold a gathering of friends on Friday following the service at 5:00 PM at Pleasant Garden Baptist Church located at 1415 Neeley Rd. Pleasant Garden, NC 24313. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AuthoraCare Hospice at 918 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215. McClure Funeral Service in Graham is assisting the family.
