Donna M. Sykes

Donna Monk Sykes, 61 of Mebane passed away Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell in Burlington, NC.

A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Brenda Nadine Monk and the late Carl Thomas Monk. Donna was a graduate of Eastern Alamance High School. She worked in sales while living in North Carolina, Louisiana, Texas and California. She was employed at Living Free Ministries in Mebane, where she enjoyed meeting new customers and volunteers who often became friends.

Surviving are her son, Jonathan Darryl Sykes (Aalee) of Chula Vista, CA; her daughter, Allison Leigh Turner of Mebane, grandchildren Emma Morgan Sykes and Benjamin Logan Sykes of Chula Vista, CA; her sister, Jackie Monk Cannady (Freddy) of Mebane. She is also survived by her best friend and beach buddy, Carolyn Loy of Mebane.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5pm on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance at 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
