Donnie Monroe Carver

May 26, 1952 — July 4, 2016

Donnie Carver, 64, passed away on July 4, 2016 at his residence after battling cancer for a year. He was employed by Foust Fuels and was a flagman at South Boston and Ace Speedways. He served in the US Army, was a Deacon at Old Lea Bethel Baptist Church and was also a member of the Prospect Hill Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid softball player and was given the nickname “Lightening”. His personal ministry was helping other people. He was loved by everyone. Survivors include his wife, Cathy Goude Carver, mother; Janie Webster Carver, daughters; Marcia Culler (Bobby), Lori Webster (Danny), Joyce Maynor (Lacy) and Carrie Feldman (Josh), brothers; Will Carver (Pam), Richard Carver (Lisa) and Jerry Carver, 12 grandchildren and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his father James Willard Carver. The family will receive friends on Wednesday July 6, 2016 from 6-8 at McClure Funeral and Cremation Service in Mebane. A funeral service will be held at Old Lea Bethel Baptist Church on Thursday July 7, 2016 at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Cooper Family Cemetery.
