Donnie Hugh Combs

Mr. Donnie Hugh Combs, 79, of Graham, NC passed away on Monday August 29, 2016 at the Five oaks manor in Concord, NC. A native of Orange County, NC he was the son of the late Doc and Rose Hamlett Combs. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. He worked with Burlington Industries for numerous years and was a member of People’s Memorial Christian Church. He was an avid Carolina Tar Heel fan as he always enjoyed going to games and being in Chapel Hill. His joy was watching his boys play ball over the years as he was so proud of them. He loved to fish when he was able and enjoyed being outdoors with his family. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Peggy Swainey Combs, of the home; sons, Michael K. Combs and wife Carolyn, of Burlington, Byron Combs and wife Janice, of Lawsonville, NC, Donald H. Combs and wife Kimberly, of Concord, NC, and Corey Combs and wife Sabrina, of Kannapolis, NC; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; sister, Geneva Justice, of Hillsborough and brother Wayne Combs, of Hillsborough and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, William Combs and sisters, Hazel Blake and Grace Shelton. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday September 1, 2016 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with the Pastor Tommy Marley officiating. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
