Doris Jean (Beal) Young

Mrs. Doris Jean Beal Young 86, of Graham, NC passed away on January 5, 2024, at her residence. A native of Chatham Co. NC, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Etta Moore Beal and the wife of the late Howard Wayne Young. Doris was the last of seven siblings and the heart of her family. She enjoyed gardening and planting her flowers. She will forever be remembered for being a good woman and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many, but nothing put a smile on her face like her grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Jeffrey Wayne Young and wife Gail, and Bonnie Young Minnich and husband Dave; her grandchildren, John Wayne Strickland, Cynthia Inman, Christy Strickland, and Amy Horner; a son in law, Mark Horner; her loving great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Joy Horner and her siblings, Tom Beal, Jimmy Beal, Samuel “Punk” Beal, Carolee Dowd, Hazel Johnson, and Loris Whitaker. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday January 10, 2024, at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with the Pastor Paul Mann officiating. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
