Doris Way Ragle

Doris Faye Creech Way Ragle, aged 83, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025, at the Hospice Home in Burlington. Born on November 7, 1941, to Jessie and Nellie Creech, Doris's life was a testament to her unwavering faith, her dedication to her loved ones, and her generous spirit.

Doris was a beacon of light and strength to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, John Way Jr. and Marvin Ragle, and her brothers, Arthur and Paul Creech. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her daughter, Barbara Taher (John), her adoring grandchildren, Jacob Earp (Elissa) of Arizona and Aliya Taher, and her treasured great-grandchildren, Oakley and Riley Earp. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Frasier.

A member of New Hope Baptist Church in Burlington, Doris found great joy in her faith and community. She dedicated countless hours to volunteering at the church, where she was known for her warm smile and the lovingly assembled welcome packets she created for new members. Her commitment to her church family was a reflection of her deep love for God and her community.  Mom was known to always have a joke.  She got joy out of making people laugh.

The family will receive friends on Monday March 10, 2025, from 5pm-7pm at McClure Funeral Service in Graham.  A Celebration of Doris’s Life will be held at 12pm on Tuesday March 11, 2025, at New Hope Baptist Church in Burlington.  Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park.
