Doris Jeannette Adams Tucker, 89, of 1313 Collins Drive, Burlington, N.C. passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014, at her residence. Doris was born in Alamance County. She was a retired staff nurse at Alamance Regional Medical Center and a member of Graham Friends Church. She was also a big Atlanta Braves fan.She is survived by sons, Byron B. Tucker (Delilah) of Mebane and Timothy A. Tucker of Burlington; grandchildren, Ricki Tucker McGee (Aaron), Kimberly Tucker Bowman (Nathan), Byron Seth Tucker (Ashley); nine great-grandchildren; former daughter-in-law, Kathy Freeland; brothers, Connie M. Adams of Burlington and Lawrence G. Adams of Eden.She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Blackburn Tucker; parents, Herbert Monroe and Lela Cox Adams; sisters, Judy A. Murray and Betty A. Jones; brothers, William R. Adams, Charles H. Adams, Kenneth L. Adams and Thomas M. Adams.A graveside service will be held Sunday, March 30, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Historical Providence Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Darryl Peebles. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 1 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service.
