Dorothy "Dot" Jones Hicks

Mrs. Dorothy Jones “Dot” Hicks, of Mebane, NC, went to be with her Lord and savior Jesus Christ on September 30, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a native of the Buckhorn Community and lifelong member of Chestnut Ridge United Methodist Church where she played the Church piano for many loving years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and working on her flowers. She retired from Influential Hosiery with 30 years of service as well as being a greeter at Wal-Mart for 20 years. She is survived by her daughters, Rea Terrell, Judy Werner and (Rick), and Tammy Hicks Walker (Jim); her loving grandchildren, Todd McPherson, Denee McPherson (Ed), Jeff Rhew, Rod Rhew, Ron Mauck (Staci), Renee Mauck, Lauren Wilkins (Chad) and Brandon Wood (Anna); 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild as well as many loving extended family, Church family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband John “Bill” Hicks; son, Kenneth McPherson; parents, Ollie and Maude Jones; siblings, Eileene Tapp, Frank Jones and Donald Jones. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday October 4, 2016 at the Chestnut Ridge United Methodist Church with the Pastor Pam Gilliam and Chaplain Steve Jordan officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service on Tuesday in the Church Fellowship Hall and other times at the residence of the family.
