Douglas C. (Doug) Holt, 53, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025, at his home. Doug was born on May 25, 1972, the son of Gayle Sykes Holt and Gary Holt, who survive. Doug was predeceased by his grandparents, Howard and Margie Sykes and Mason and Janie Holt.

Doug was a graduate of NC State University and worked for Power Screen in Kernersville as an accountant.

Doug was an avid sports fan, but he especially enjoyed NC State teams and the Carolina Hurricanes. His home was filled with all kinds of sports memorabilia, including autographed photographs, posters, jerseys, souvenir collectibles, and clothing. He collected everything, from coins, stamps, watches, games, and Lego items. He loved music from many genres and decades, and he owned hundreds of records, albums, and compact discs.

A funeral Mass to celebrate Doug’s life will be held on Saturday, November 8 at 11:00 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Haw River, NC, with Father Joe Sroka presiding. A reception in the Fellowship Hall will follow.

Doug was a very loving, caring son and brought much joy to his parents. His presence will be missed in their lives as they journey through this loss.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, PO Box 1008, Haw River, NC 27258.
