Dovie Long West

Mrs. Dovie Long West, 93, of Mebane died June 7, 2017 in her home. Born March 7, 1924 in Person County, she was the daughter of Sam and Texie Ball Long. Mrs. West was a homemaker. She attended Tabernacle Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Marie Felmet, Lorena Florence and Wanda Pruitt all of Mebane; Kathryn Sykes of Efland; sisters, Darlene Bolick of Hillsborough, Virginia Bolick of Mebane; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; special CNA, Amanda Tickle; the Duke Hospice nurses, and Touched By Angels #2. Mrs. West was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earley Bird West; daughter, Juanita Sain; 1 sister; 2 brothers; 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 10, 2017 in the chapel of McClure Funeral Home in Mebane. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Christian Church cemetery.
