Dustin Cody Gurkin

Dustin "Cody" Gurkin, known affectionately as Cody to his family and friends, passed away on February 2, 2026, at the age of 33. Born on November 18, 1992, Cody was a vibrant soul whose enthusiasm for life touched everyone he met.

Cody was the son of Wendy Gurkin Trogdon and Shane Trogdon. He was a loving brother to his sister, Madison Trogdon. His maternal grandmother, Clara Gurkin, and paternal grandparents, Phillip and Judy Brown, along with his uncle, Brian Coble, will miss his presence deeply. Cody was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Gurkin, with whom he now rests in peace.

From a young age, Cody was known for his passion for anything with wheels. His love for R/C cars began as a child and blossomed into a lifelong hobby. He could often be found at local racing tracks, skillfully maneuvering his Go Karts, much to the delight and admiration of his family and friends. Cody's enthusiasm for motorcycles was more than just a pastime; it was a reflection of his adventurous spirit and his constant pursuit of freedom and excitement.

Cody's competitive nature was matched by his camaraderie and sportsmanship. He was a familiar face in the gaming community, where he spent countless hours mastering games on his Playstation. Cody's ability to bring laughter and joy into any room was one of his most endearing qualities.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Steve Loy. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday one hour prior to the service from 1pm-2pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
