Edith Mcgee Gibson

Mrs. Edith McGee Gibson, 91, of Mebane, NC, passed away on Tuesday March 13, 2018 at the Presbyterian Home of Hawfields. She was the daughter of the late William and Caroline Hamilton McGee. She was a Homemaker where she raised her family and spoiled her grandchildren every day. She was an active member of Hawfields Presbyterian Church and she sang with the Church Choir for numerous years. She loved to sing and paint different things for family and friends. Survivors include her children, Carolyn Bell, of Mebane, Chester Gibson (Marsha), of Florida, Richard Gibson (Faye), of Liberty, Nancy Edwards (Johnny), of Mebane, Sandra Wooten, of Wilmington and Connie Thompson (Mike), of Harkers Island; 8 loving grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 4 great gtreat grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her late husbands, Norman C. Gibson and John Burke; and 7 loving brothers and sisters. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday March 16, 2018 at Hawfields Presbyterian Church with the Pastor David Ealy officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church on Friday and other times at the residence of her daughter, Carolyn.
