Edith Elizabeth (Sexton) Williams

Edith Elizabeth Sexton Williams, 98, of Galax, VA passed away at the Hospice Home in Yadkinville on Monday, October 31, 2022. She was a native of Grayson County, VA and the daughter of the late James and Nettie Sexton. Edith was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her husband Rhudy Williams; her sisters, Ruth Ballard and Maude Russell; her brothers, Albert Sexton and Willard Sexton; and a niece, Janella Smith.

Edith is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Young, and her son, Elwood Williams; grandchildren, Erin Johnson and Kenneth Williams and both their children; a niece, Judy Thomas; and seven nephews, Larry Sexton, JC Sexton, Randy Sexton, Ernest Sexton, Dallas Sexton, Jerry Sexton, and Perry Sexton.

A graveside service to celebrate Edith’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, November 4, 2022, at Alamance Memorial Park in Burlington.
