Edna Mayes Dawkins

EFLAND - Edna Mayes Dawkins, 97, formerly of Efland, died Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at Carolina Point in Durham.She was a native of Orange County, a retired librarian for Orange County where the Edna Mayes Dawkins Meeting Room was dedicated to her and was a member of Chestnut Ridge United Methodist Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Odell Dawkins; and her parents, Robert Eugene and Bessie Baity Mayes.She is survived by several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2015, at Chestnut Ridge United Methodist Church by the Rev. Pam Gilliam. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 to 2 p.m. before the service.
