Edward Rudd Stanfield

Edward Rudd Stanfield, 82, passed peacefully in his home on July 14th, 2020 surrounded by loved ones. He was born on July 23rd, 1937 in Brown Summit, NC, and was the son of William Lee and Kitty Lafay Stanfield.

Ed is survived by his wife, Faye Spivey Stanfield, his three daughters, Wanda Warwick, Lydia Ann Christian and Lee Holcombe, his sister Ann Lucas and 4 grandchildren, Luke Grange, Rhianon Holcombe Brady, Grace and Rachael Christian. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jo Alice Nicks.

Ed Served his country in the US Army where he was quickly promoted to Sergeant E-5 with the 101st Airborne. He was a second degree blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do and was an instructor for many years.

Ed loved a good movie, especially a western or The Godfather I and II, accompanied by a bowl of buttered popcorn. He will be fondly remembered for his immeasurable wisdom and unparalleled sense of humor.

A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held 11:00 Saturday, July 18, 2020 by Pastor Willie Teague.
