Edward Francis Wedge

Mr. Edward Francis Wedge, 84, of Mebane, NC, passed away on Saturday July 22, 2017 at the Hospice Home of Burlington. A native of Middlesex County, MA, he was the son of the late John F. and Mary Taylor Wedge. He was a lifelong contractor operating his own business. He enjoyed trips to Cape Cod and visiting his family when he was there. He is a veteran of the US Navy, serving on the USS Mitscher-DL2 as a Fireman in the engine room. Survivors include his daughter, Cindy Drob, of Albemarle; sons Stephen Wedge and wife Pat, of Mebane and Norman Wedge and wife Jennifer, of VT; grandchildren, Michael Wedge, Daniel Wedge, Mathew Drob, Aimee Drob, Alex Wedge and Logan Wedge; sister, Hazel Stapel, of MA and many loving nieces and nephews. In addtition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy Emmetts Wedge; sister, Donna DiDuca; brothers, Richard and John Wedge. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane. The family will receive friends from 12 – 1 pm, prior to the service.
