Edwin Laverne Rabon, 78, of New Street in Graham, died June 16, 2016 at his residence. Born January 27, 1938 in Conway, SC, he was the son of Stanley Tate Rabon and Brontie Rabon Rabon. He had worked for Alamance County Schools, and retired from Craven County Schools, where he served as assistant manitanance director. Mr. Rabon was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lindley Rabon; sons, Gary L. Rabon (Renea) of Graham, Jerry E. Rabon of Burlington, Donald Boggs (Joyce) of Inman, SC; daughter, Teresa Batten (Dennis) of Swansboro; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; his sister, Earline Anderson (Robert) of Aynor, SC; and his faithful dog, Max. He was predeceased by his parents; son, Richard Lee Boggs; and sister, Ailene Brown. The service to celebrate Mr. Rabon’s life will be held at 1:00 pm Monday at McClure Funeral Home chapel in Graham, with interment following at Graham Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home from 12 noon until 12:45 pm, prior to the service.
