Edwina Thompson Hughes

Edwina Hughes, 67, passed away on November 24, 2016 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro. She was the daughter of the late Edgar and Geneva Thompson and the wife of the late Wilkie Hughes Jr. She was a lifelong member of Glen Raven Baptist Church and was known for her quick funny wit and beautiful singing voice. Survivors include her son; Tommy Hughes, sister; Eva Caldwell (Jackie), brothers; Robbie Thompson (Betty) and Johnny Thompson (Pat), grandchildren; Lindsey Curtis, Brooke Iseley and Andrew Curtis, step-son; Scott Hughes, two great grandsons and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Other than her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a daughter Paige Phillips. The family will receive friends on Saturday November 26, 2016 from 5-7 at McClure Funeral and Cremation Service in Graham at other times they will be at the home of Robbie and Betty Thompson. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday November 27, 2016 at Glen Raven Baptist Church with Pastor Bobby Fann officiating. Burial will follow in Moore’s Chapel Cemetery.
