Elisabeth Hafner Deyton

Mrs. Elisabeth Hafner Deyton born November 26, 1929, in Nuremberg, Germany. At the age of 96 years old she entered into eternal rest on Friday June 12, 2026 at Authoracare Hospice surrounded by her loved ones. Elisabeth was the wife of Richard Deyton for 57 years until his death on November 1, 2022. They are now worshipping the Lord together. Elisabeth was the only daughter of Karolina Hafner and Hans Meier. She was later adopted at a young age by Margarete Schroegler and Johann Naecker. Later in life she came to the United States of America where she married the love of her life, Richard Deyton. Elisabeth and Richard lived in numerous cities around the Eastern US due to Richard's job. They made so many close friends along the years. She was known for her generous spirit, volunteering for Meals on Wheels and other local causes. About a decade ago, Richard and Elisabeth welcomed new neighbors, Hector and Lesley Gonzalez. Over the years, they grew as close as family. The Gonzalez children became like great- grandchildren to them as well. She was affectionately known as "Grandmother Elisabeth," she loved spoiling Lynette, Analynne, Abrianna, and Lailah with candy and gifts during every holiday and birthday during these last few years. Beyond her neighbors, Elisabeth was blessed with numerous friends who brought immense joy to her life. Whether you called her on the phone, drove her to errands, joined her on day trips, or visited her at home, you were deeply loved. To Elisabeth, you were all family.

She is preceded in death by her husband and parents.

A funeral service will be held to honor her life on Friday, June 19, 2026, beginning at 4:00pm at Belmont Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church beginning at 3:00pm. Burial will follow the funeral service in the church cemetery.
