Elizabeth “Faye” Ivey 75, of Snow Camp, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Friday September 22, 2023 at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington, NC after many years of declining health. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Oza Thomas Carroll and Margaret Young Carroll.
Faye was a graduate of Graham High. Faye spent many of her younger years caring for her Grandmother Myrtle, in her home, and raising her four children. Her first career was in the insurance industry, where she thoroughly enjoyed working in sales for many years. Later in life, prior to becoming disabled, Faye spent many years working the front desk at the Travelodge which eventually became the Motel 6. This was another career that she spoke fondly of as she enjoyed meeting and getting to know the many people that passed through on their travels.
Faye loved gospel music and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Faye had a real passion for music and was an avid piano player. In her younger years, Faye’s passion for music led to her forming a traveling gospel group, called “Sweet Spirit Trio”, with her cousins Linda and Sissy, while her brother Tony played the drums. From there, she went on to pursue her love of music by making several trips to Nashville, TN, where she successfully had a couple of tapes/CDs of her solo music produced. Faye also loved taking her family on vacations to the beach and it was the trips she made with her family to Myrtle Beach, SC that she most looked forward to every year. Some of her other favorite past times were watching Survivor and the Bachelor, listening to Swap Shop, and watching Total Christian Television. She often reminisced of times spent with friends playing rook and Summers spent out at lake Juno. Faye was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and a trustworthy friend who would always help anyone she could. Her absolute favorite pastime was spending time with and being surrounded by her family, and doting on her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family was her greatest accomplishment and meant everything to her.
Faye is survived by her son Ronnie Ivey Jr. of Graham, son Craig Ivey of Snow Camp, Granddaughter Danielle (Ron) Jacobs of Graham, Granddaughter Stevie Rudd of Burlington, Grandson Ethan Ivey of Graham, great Grandson Ron Jacobs of Graham, great Granddaughter Kaylee Jacobs of Graham, great Grandson Hunter Jacobs of Graham, Great Granddaughter Aniyah Rudd of Burlington, Great Granddaughter Allidiya Rudd of Burlington, Great Granddaughter Amelia Rudd of Burlington, Great Granddaughter Safina Sesay of Burlington, brother Tommy (Jo) Carroll of Myrtle Beach, SC, brother Tony (Linda) Carroll of Burlington, sister-in-law Linda (Donald) Duggins, sister-in-law Ina Faye Wilson (Kenny), brother-in-law Robert (Connie) Ivey, brother-in-law James (Kaye) Ivey, and multiple nieces and nephews.
