Elizabeth Henderson Pearson

Mrs. Elizabeth Henderson Pearson, 85, of Graham, passed away on Thursday January 15, 2015 at her residence. A native of Alamance County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Otis Haywood and Gertrude Ellis Henderson and the wife of the late Donald Boyd Pearson Sr. She was a lifelong member of Graham Presbyterian Church and a former choir member. She retired from Alamance County School System after teaching 25 years at Alexander Wilson Elementary School and North Graham Elementary School. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was known for being a talented seamstress and artist. She participated in the Alamance County Arts Council. She won the honor of the Alamance County Sesquicentennial Painting. She was an avid reader and she still enjoyed Leornian Book Club and our Public Library, she loved to refinish furniture and antiques as well as working in her gardens and growing beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed her participation with the Gallery Players of Burlington. Survivors include her three children and their families, Boyd Pearson Jr. and wife Amy, of Leasburg, NC, Keith Pearson and wife Vicki, of Greensboro, and Anne Pearson Dorsett and husband David, of Graham; grandchildren, Erin Zinn and husband Roy, Michael Pearson and wife Alesha, Haley Pearson, Graham Pearson, and Ellie Pearson; great grandchildren, Eli Zinn, Wyatt Zinn and Avery Pearson; brother, O.H. “Skip” Henderson and family, of Madison, Alabama; and her special friend, Joe Daniel, of Roxboro, NC. A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 3:00 PM January 18, 2015 at the Graham Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Steve Braswell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Church Parlor. The burial will be private at Alamance Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Children’s Museum of Alamance County at 336-228-7997 (call to find ways to donate) or to the Graham Presbyterian Church at 216 West Harden Street, Graham, NC 27253.
