Elizabeth "Lib" Young Nicholson

Mrs. Elizabeth “Lib” Young Nicholson, 86, of Mebane, NC, went home to celebrate Christmas with Jesus on Tuesday December 23, 2014 at 11:11, PM following a brief illness. A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Fletcher Arnold Nicholson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence G. and Mary Ray Young, one brother, Dr. Melvin Young, of Asheboro, two sisters, Eula Mae Burke, of Asheboro and Billie Jean King, of Mebane. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Lib was a servant all her life. She worked at A&M Grill and Huey’s Seafood of Mebane. She and Arnold had no biological children but were caretakers to ten or more children during their marriage. Their door and table were havens to all who entered. Lib was escorted to the gates of heaven by her precious caretakers, Eloise Smith, Diana Smith, Sheliah King, and Danielle Christopher. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday December 27, 2014 at the Hebron United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bryan Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance/Caswell at 918 Chapel Hill Rd.
